Dale Barlow + Andrew Dickeson Quartet – Friday, 19th of April, 2024:
After living overseas for quite some time, master saxophonist Dale Barlow returns to Sydney and combines forces with drummer Andrew Dickeson at Foundry616 on April 19th with a hot, swinging band!
Barlow has long been one of the leading lights of Modern Jazz in Australia – as well as his illustrious international career with greats such as Art Blakey, Cedar Walton, Chet Baker, and many more.
Andrew Dickeson is one of Australia’s busiest and most prominent drummers and band leaders and has worked with a variable “who’s who” of Australian and International jazz artists.
For this special night at Foundry they unite with some of Australia’s finest musicians, Hugh Barrett on piano and Jacob Graham on bass.
This will be a night of cooking “Hard Bop” rarely heard in Sydney. The band will feature classic tunes from Art Blakey’s Jazz Messengers, Cedar Walton, some timeless standards, and some beautiful original music.
