Justin Yeo Quartet ft Warwick Alder – Wednesday, 23rd of August 2023:
Justin Yeo is a young emerging saxophonist with a unique lyrical voice, inspired by a wide range of artists across the jazz lineage including Sonny Rollins, John Coltrane, Seamus Blake, and Dexter Gordon. This night will feature one of Justin’s great mentors, the Australian jazz icon Warwick Alder.
They are joined by Elliot Carter on Drums, Cairn Peterson on Bass, and Daniel Enriquez on Guitar. Together this group will perform a combination of original compositions along with refreshing arrangements of classic jazz standards.

These young players are developing a strong musical bond while playing a lot of jazz tradition. I was thrilled with their opening of Yes or No by the great Wayne Shorter. The rhythm section of Cairn Peterson (bass) and Elliott Carter (drums) is also an exciting pairing. Both players generate a lot of very tasteful energy. This will be a great night of music.”
