Chasing the Moon combines the exuberant and romantic sounds of European and Latin Jazz with their own distinctive style which includes a number of original compositions. Led by Kathy Bluff on violin and vocals and Paul Burjan on saxophone and flute, the band explores a rich, orchestral palette, combining soulful vocals and swinging violin with virtuosic saxophone and flute.
That essential Parisian ambiance comes with the piano accordion of Garry Steel. Well-known Sydney jazz guitarist, John Blenkhorn provides rhythmic pulse and beautiful solos. The talented rhythm section featuring Merv Sequiera on double bass and Mike Quigley on drums lay down the best of grooves. The music counterpoints the darkly chromatic sounds of European jazz with the light-hearted flair of American swing and the charm of a Paris café.
