Emma Hamilton – “From Paris to New Orleans” – Friday, 20th of October 2023:
“The first girl I’ve seen who makes a squeeze box look sexy!” – Elaine Paige
“A great talent that needs to be heard!” Tommy Emmanuel
French/Australian singer/accordionist Emma Hamilton is debuting her latest show “From Paris to New Orleans’ in Melbourne for this one-night-only show! Joined by her dazzling pianist brother, Thomas Hamilton, and the most charming Sam Lemann on guitar, this trio will perform a surprising repertoire of classic and original French-inspired material. This show will explore the influence of French music on American music, as they jump from Edith Piaf’s “La Foule”, and “Douce France” by Charles Trenet to the streets of New Orleans with “Jolie Blonde”.
Emma’s raspy enveloping voice transports you to another era while her vocals dance and play showcasing her own undeniably hooky original songs, right through to French classic chansons which she sings with luscious authenticity (She is half French!) and passion.
Since the release of her first album “La Musique” ABC/Universal, Emma has toured throughout Europe and Russia opening for guitar virtuoso Tommy Emmanuel and then relocated to London where she held a residency performing at Brasserie Zedel 6 nights a week.
Since their return to Australia, Emma and her brother Thomas have been enthralling audiences in theatres across the country as they entertain with their rare musicality, skill, and humor. This is a show not to be missed!
Emma will. be joined by her brother Thomas on piano, father Ross Hamilton on Drums, and Stuart Vandergraff on horns.
