Charlie Tchetchenian: Wednesday, 20th January 2021
Sydney-based musician and vocalist Charlie Tchetchenian is a lover of jazz and crooning, honouring the likes of the old greats such as Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, and Dean Martin.
16-year-old Charlie has been a drummer and percussionist from age 9 but last year started singing with his school’s renowned ‘Big Band’, who regularly perform at festivals and events.
Earlier this year, Charlie had the pleasure of singing with International Grammy Award winner and music sensation Michael Bublé in Sydney during his Australian tour. Definitely a highlight of his musical career so far!
In early November, Charlie was selected by Hornsby Council to headline their finale to the successful ‘Friday Night Vibes’ online concert series, accompanied by a full Big Band orchestra.
On 14 November, Charlie sang with The Voice Australia finalist and The Voice Armenia winner Masha Mnjoyan at a major fundraising event in Sydney.
This year, Charlie was accepted into the prestigious Talent Development Project, Australia’s most successful youth training and development program in the music and entertainment industry. TDP graduates have included Human Nature, John Foreman OAM, The McClymonts, Sam Fischer, and Diana Rouvas.
Charlie’s deep bass voice adds to the already brilliant jazz and crooning greats – it’s his mission to keep the spirit of these amazing singers alive for generations to come.
