Charmaine Ford is a New Zealand-born pianist and composer who has blazed a trail of awards, including winning the ‘Best Jazz Album’ at the NZ Music Awards for her album ‘Busy Silence’. Her unique sound features lyrical melodies and idiosyncratic rhythmic diversity.
Charmaine’s Trio will be performing a selection of songs from her latest digital release, ‘After The Last Dance’ [May 2023], alongside a set of her original compositions. This highly anticipated performance marks the Trio’s comeback after more than a decade.

Jason Bruer & Hammerhead have established themselves as one of Sydney and Australia’s finest and most exciting ensembles. Their exhilarating performances have earned them feature status at some of Australia’s most prestigious jazz festivals including Wangaratta Jazz & Blues Festival, Sydney Con’ International Jazz Festival, Manly Jazz Festival, Capital Jazz Festival (Canberra) & Thredbo Jazz Festival. They return to Foundry616 after a long hiatus. Their much-anticipated third studio album ‘I Didn’t Get To Where I Am Today’ has just been released and they will be showcasing tunes form this album on this gig. For this performance they will be joined by The Charmaine Ford Trio who haven’t performed in Sydney in over a decade.
