Mike Nock Quartet – Saturday, 15th of July 2023:
Foundry616 is approaching a decade of operation in 2023 – no mean feat in a city where venues often have a short lived life, not to mention the disruption reaped by the pandemic. When the club first opened in September 2013, the opening night featured a very special quartet led by the evergreen Mike Nock. Now almost a decade later, and with numerous gigs at the club to his credit (more than anybody else), Mike is back with that very same quartet for what is surely an historic reunion.
With many years of music making, both collectively and individually, bassist Brett Hirst, drummer James Waples and tenor saxophonist Karl Laskowski reunite with Mike as a prelude to the club’s official anniversary celebrations in September. Don’t miss this very special show.
