Bastille Day: Avec la meilleure musique de la France! – Friday, 14th of July, 2023:
Celebrate Bastille Day at FOUNDRY616 with the best music of France.
FOUNDRY616 celebrates and honours the French National Day (Fête Nationale) known as The Fourteenth of July (Quatorze Juillet) with a brand-new show featuring the best music of La Belle France.
Pianist / music director Rodric White grew up in the French / British colony « Les Nouvelles Hebrides » (also known as The New Hebrides; now the nation of Vanuatu). Rodric has long held a wonderful affinity with French music and culture, having performed and recorded with French singer Patricia Ségui in Nouvelle-Calédonie (New Caledonia) and Australia, and has performed in Canada and the USA with French Canadian musicians.
Violinist / singer Phoebe Haselden performs regularly with her husband, guitarist Morgan Haseldean, as Mimosa Duo at venues such as Avoca Beach Theatre, the Sydney Opera House, and on-board luxury cruise ships in the Pacific. Phoebe and Morgan lived in France embracing the exciting Gypsy Jazz of Stephane Grappelli and Django Reinhardt.
Rodric and Phoebe are delighted to perform with bass player Fiona Lugg (Bathtub Gin Orchestra, Jiri Kripac’s Harlem Swing) and drummer Toby Hall (the catholics, Sandy Evans, Alister Spence Trio). The evening includes a special guest appearance by acclaimed singer Deborah Dicembre (Mark Isaacs, Kevin Hunt, Dale Barlow, Carl Orr).
Celebrate « BASTILLE DAY chez FOUNDRY 616 » with the best of French Music: Edith Piaf, Jacques Brel, Gabriel Fauré, Josephine Baker, Charles Trenet, Michel Legrand, Yves Montand, Django Reinhardt, Cyrille Aimee et plus encore.
