With an impressive career spanning more than a decade, Hetty toured for many years with acclaimed Australian musician James Morrison, and can now be found on stages large and small from New Zealand to New York. Celebrated for her clear, sweet-sounding voice, Hetty really swings and fills the room with a natural musicality. “Like Peggy Lee on a Vespa” Marc Myers, Jazzwax USA Hetty has performed at many premier jazz festivals across Australia and Internationally including the New York Winter Jazz Festival (USA), Sapporo International Jazz Festival (Japan), Ascona Jazz Festival (Switzerland), Prague Proms (Czech Republic), and the Cavell Leitch International Jazz Festival (NZ) as well as many others across Europe, Asia, and Australia. Hetty’s career highlights include performing with eight symphonic orchestras, treading the boards as Ava Gardner in an original Australian stage production ‘Ava at the End of the World’, and appearing on both Australian and French TV. For this concert, Hetty will be celebrating her recent February release ‘Valentines’, a small collection of rare songs in warning of love, perfect for the bah-humbugs among us. Enjoy these treasures alongside favourites from Hetty’s albums ‘Under Paris Skies’ (Self-Released) and ‘Dim All The Lights’ (ABC Jazz/Universal Music). Joined by Sydney musicians, Carl Dewhurst (guitar), Brendan Clarke (bass), and Andrew Dickeson (drums) – don’t miss this swinging evening with four of the best.
