Lily Dior (London) – Friday, 12th of April 2024:
Australian jazz/soul diva Lily Dior returns to Sydney for a rare performance with some of her closest musical allies after a long stint in her newly adopted home of London. Her last show at Foundry 616 was packed to the rafters so get in quick before tickets sell out!
Lily has made quite a splash over the past ten years wowing UK audiences with her powerful voice and stage presence and has performed at all the major venues including Ronnie Scott’s, the 606 Club, Pizza Express Soho, and Holborn as well as countless appearances at leading clubs around the country. The last couple of years she was invited as a featured artist at The London Jazz Festival selling out both shows at Spice Of Life in the heart of Soho. Her European foray has included festivals in Italy and Sicily as well as concerts at Budapest Jazz Club.
Tonight Lily will be presenting a selection of new songs penned for her soon-to-be-recorded fourth album as well as an eclectic mix of jazz and groove material. Joining Lily will be pianist extraordinaire Brendan St Ledger who co-wrote some of the material from her last album ‘Let’s Talk About It’ as well as Nick McBride on drums who has returned to Australia after many years overseas plus legendary Australian bassist Jonathan Zwartz who has rightly been voted onto the APRA board to represent the Australian jazz community. This will be a very special evening indeed and one not to be missed!
