Foundry616 is celebrating a decade of operation in 2023, as Sydney’s leading jazz club – no mean feat in a city where venues often come and go overnight. When the club first opened in September 2013, the opening night featured a very special quartet led by the evergreen Mike Nock. Now some ten years later, and with numerous gigs at the club to his credit, Mike is back with that very same quartet for what is surely an historic event.
With many years of music making, both collectively and individually, bassist Brett Hirst, drummer James Waples and tenor saxophonist Karl Laskowski reunite with Mike for what is a perfect way for jazz lovers to kick off 2023.
