Emma Hamilton – “An evening in Paris” – Saturday, 3rd of February 2024:
“The first girl I’ve seen who makes a squeeze box look sexy!” – Elaine Paige.
“A great talent that needs to be heard!” – Tommy Emmanuel.
French/Australian singer and accordionist Emma Hamilton is set to premiere her latest show, “An Evening in Paris” at Foundry616!
Accompanied by her pianist brother, Thomas Hamilton, and the charismatic guitarist Sam Lemann, the trio will present a diverse repertoire of classic and original French-inspired music. The performance explores the impact of French music on American tunes, transitioning from Edith Piaf’s “La Foule” and Charles Trenet’s “Douce France” to the vibrant streets of New Orleans with “Jolie Blonde.”
Emma’s distinctive, raspy voice transports listeners to another era, showcasing her own catchy original songs and delivering French classic chansons with authentic passion (given her half-French heritage). Following her debut album “La Musique” with ABC/Universal, Emma toured Europe and Russia, opening for guitar virtuoso Tommy Emmanuel. After a residency in London at Brasserie Zedel, she returned to Australia with her brother Thomas, captivating audiences with their rare musicality, skill, and humor in theaters across the country.
