Since winning the National Jazz Award in 2006 and performing as a finalist at the 2010 Freedman Jazz Fellowships concert at the Sydney Opera House, Jackson has toured with his trio in China and in Europe, and has released two trio albums on the prestigious Swiss record label Hat Hut Records. Jackson’s most recent trio album Sintering was recorded in Sydney with long-standing collaborators James Waples and Ben Waples. His debut trio album Land Tides was recorded in New York with Thomas Morgan and Dan Weiss, and received critical acclaim both in Australia and in Europe. Jackson has toured with Jacam Manricks and American drummer Eric McPherson, and has also recorded and toured extensively with Sydney-based saxophonist and composer Jeremy Rose, including recording and performing in Berlin with Rose for the album Within and Without (featuring guitarist Kurt Rosenwinkel), and appearing on the album Sand Lines recorded in Sydney. Jackson Harrison is joined by Ben Waples and James Waples for the trio’s first performance in 2021.
