Foundry welcomes back Simone Waddell; Join her and the Rodric White Trio with special guest guitarist Dev Gopalasamy!
Foundry616 welcomes the return of Simone Waddell, singer, songwriter, and recording artist (mentored by iconic Australian jazz singer Kerrie Biddell).
In Australia, Simone performs at major national music festivals and leading Sydney venues The Basement, Foundry616, and Camelot Lounge, at leading Melbourne venues Bennett’s Lane and Paris Cat, and in Brisbane at leading venue Doo-Bop Jazz Club. Internationally, Simone has enjoyed presenting concerts at the Polytheatre, Haiya Theatre, and Xinghai Concert Hall in China, and major Jazz clubs throughout Japan.
Since 2019, Simone has often performed at FOUNDRY616 singing the songs of Billie Holiday (Lady Day) arranged for a seven-piece band by her pianist/music director Rodric White.
Saturday 22nd June sees Simone in an intimate small group setting accompanied by the fine playing of pianist Rodric White and his trio with featured special guest, accomplished guitarist Dev Gopalasamy.
The evening of music will include music from Simone’s 5 albums, the Billie Holiday Songbook, new explorations into the songwriting of Stevie Wonder, Sting, and Sade, plus much more!
