The Jacob Jayasena Trio returns to Foundry616, offering an eclectic musical experience that blends jazz, classical music, and global influences. Originally from Solo, Indonesia, Jacob Jayasena made a name for himself in his home country with performances like the 2019 International Ubud Village Jazz Festival before relocating to Sydney in 2020. Now studying at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, Jacob has refined his unique style under renowned jazz pianists such as Indra Lesmana and Judy Bailey.

Joining Jacob are two accomplished musicians: Brendan Clarke on bass and Tim Firth on drums. Brendan, an award-winning bassist, has been a key figure in the Australian jazz scene since relocating to Sydney in 1999. He has played on over 40 albums and collaborated with many acclaimed artists. Tim Firth, one of Australia’s top drummers, has performed extensively across Australia, Europe, and Asia. He has recorded on over 50 albums and worked with international and national jazz icons.

The trio will present a dynamic set of original compositions and jazz standards, drawing inspiration from Charlie Parker, Bach, and Indonesian traditions. Don’t miss this exceptional musical journey at Foundry616!
