A night of hard funk and deep jazz with Alpha Goose and the Aria Collective.
Alpha Goose (from 9:30) mixes influences from funk, punk, grunge, and psychedelia to produce a unique, raw, and
groovy ambiance. It’s music you can feel and think, reviving the role of improvisation in Sydney’s young music scene.
Playing an all-original set, they deliver an entirely unconstricted show that blurs the line between audience and performer. The Aria Collective (from 8:30) is Sydney’s youngest, tightest jazz ensemble, bringing in cerebral, muscular rhythms and slick flows from their mastery of many different instruments each.
They prove the youthfulness of the genre in spite of public preconceptions and remind us all that jazz is music to be danced to.
