“Celebrating Art Blakey & The Jazz Messengers” with Andrew Dickeson – Friday, 21st of January 2022:
2019 marked the 100th anniversary of the birth of Master Drummer/legendary bandleader, Art Blakey.
In celebration of this, drummer/bandleader Andrew Dickeson put together a band comprising some of Sydney’s finest musicians – performing classic Jazz Messengers repertoire, along with some lesser-known material by Blakey alumni.
The band was remarkably well-received in its first run of gigs – and happily, they will be returning to Foundry616 on Friday, the 21st of January 2022!
Andrew will be joined by Simon Ferenci (trumpet), Andrew Robertson (sax), Hugh Barrett (piano), and Brendan Clarke (bass).
Expect a night of fiery swing and foot-tapping grooves!
