Dani Young launches her new single ‘Alibi’ in a full band show at Foundry. Dani Young is a country soul artist who catapulted onto the scene with a Golden Guitar nomination for her debut album ‘Desert Water’ – recorded with Aboriginal elder Warren H Williams.
The album reached #2 on the ARIA Country Albums chart. In 2021, she has released a single written and recorded for the international award-winning film Stille Nacht, now streaming on SBS on Demand, appeared on a charity single alongside guitar icon Albert Lee and Australian pop legend Marty Rhone, and also released a powerful live performance video of her single ‘Blaze’ which has already amassed 200,000 views, over 800 shares, and over 2,100 comments.
Now, Dani kick-starts her live touring with a hometown launch show for her new single ‘Alibi’ at Foundry, before joining the Country Cares Arena Tour to help relieve the mental health crisis throughout regional Queensland. ‘Alibi’ is about recognising the deceptive tactics of a partner who is trying to manipulate you for their own gain, and standing up for yourself. It combines a twangy cowboy western guitar with contemporary alt-country stylings and a soulful vocal to deliver a catchy and powerful song that leaves a unique mark on the country genre.
