Jacques Emery – Bass For the first time in Australia, trombonist and composer Ragan Kang brings his original music to Sydney. Returning from Amsterdam with a Master’s degree at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, Ragan’s dynamic new quintet draws back from 20th Century classical and modern improvised music. All of Ragan’s compositions were inspired by childhood memories from Korea, as a dedication to his late grandfather.

A brand new trio lead by award-winning pianist and composer Wilbur Whitta. This will be Wilbur’s first live outing as a bandleader since his return to Australia, after completing a Master’s degree at the Royal Academy of Music in London.
This exciting trio will play a set of Wilbur’s original compositions, which are both intricate and flexible, allowing for organic improvisation.
