Dianne Cripps presents Southern Comfort feat. The Tim Clarkson Trio:
Like a hug and a peck, and a squeeze around the neck SOUTHERN COMFORT is an eclectic mix of jazz standards, blues, originals, and gospel tunes accompanied by captivating stories about life as a daughter of Appalachia.
Dianne Cripps gets homesick for her life back in the South and she wants to share with you a unique experience that is perfectly paired with the Foundry’s authentic Southern Style cuisine. Her special guest this evening is The Tim Clarkson Trio.
Originally from Virginia, USA, Dianne styles her music with her own special blend of Southern-Belle charm which soothes the soul or makes you blush. Audiences are deeply moved by their mastery and fellowship because they travel right into the mountain hollers of your heart.

TIM CLARKSON TRIO
The Tim Clarkson Trio is an intimate band with bite to their playing. They bring together elements of music often at odds with each other: their compositions can be rhythmically and melodically intricate, but in spite of this a sense of groove, melodicism, and quirky playfulness permeate the saxophone, bass and drum interaction. With a sense of space and occasion, it is music that gets both the head and the heart, not one at the expense of the other.
Clarkson has a unique approach to the saxophone-bass-drum trio which shares roles, often turning elements of the music on their head, with bass and drums often at the forefront. Audiences are consistently delighted and surprised at the trio’s musical twists and turns, and the stories they weave. They have toured nationally and their release “Land of Free Men” has been heavily featured on ABC and community radio.
Tim Clarkson – tenor sax
Dave Groves – double bass
Cameron Reid – drums
