Tessie Overmyer Trio:
Tessie Overmyer is an exciting young saxophonist and composer originally from Newcastle, NSW. Tessie has been working to forge a unique sound that brings in elements of the jazz tradition and the great saxophone players of the past and present, as well as incorporating her own life experiences and values, to create her own musical voice.
The Tessie Overmyer Trio is a new project featuring original music written by Tessie and by drummer Toby Dunan. Tessie’s compositions focus on lyrical melodies and emphasise collective improvisations and conversations and encompass a wide variety of grooves within the umbrella of jazz.

Sandcastles:
Hinano Fujisaki (tenor saxophone), Harley Coleman (guitar), and Chloe Kim (drums) are three bright young voices in Sydney’s jazz scene. After meeting as fellow students in the jazz course at the Sydney Conservatorium, the band was formed through friendship and a mutual desire to pursue their own sound. Displaying maturity beyond their years, Sandcastles’ approach cuts to the core of the jazz spirit: group improvisation, led by well-crafted melodies, channelled with inventiveness and clarity through each instrumental voice.
