SUSAN GAI DOWLING
Sydney’s ‘First Lady of Jazz’, dripping with nostalgia and six albums in her back pocket has been in constant demand as a jazz singer/songwriter/pianist at major venues and festivals in Australia and overseas for decades.
Susan is also one of EastSide Radio FM89.7’s most beloved presenters, who hosts the “Girl Talk” radio show with Sally London on Saturday mornings.
“Fine jazz singers … are as rare in Australia as driveable roads or drinkable pinot noir. Singer Susan Gai Dowling … a member of this elite club…made cosy music, overflowing with humanity and then spiked with surprises and moments of sadness. Her voice carried a velvet lushness in its mid-range, and a warm, unassuming, non-predatory sensuality…. creating an entire evening of music without even the slightest interference from the great satan of art: ego. So natural did it sound that it almost became jazz as folk music… One left the performance glowing.” – John Shand, The Sydney Morning Herald
“It was a joy to encounter once again the easy flare with which she breathes vitality into a song”. – John Shand, Sydney Morning Herald.
HELEN FENTON
Helen Fenton until recently has performed with her 15-piece big band for the last 30 years. She has, among other things, performed at Manly and Dubbo Jazz Festivals several times, was invited to sing at the Freemantle and Canberra Jazz Clubs, toured to many Australian capital cities and was invited to sing on the inaugural Australian Jazz Cruise in 2017 with Bob Henderson and other notable Australian musicians.
Helen presented a jazz radio show on Eastside Radio Sydney for 9 years, is still involved at the station, was on the Jazz Action Society committee for several years and has recorded 3 full-length studio albums.
REBEKKA NEVILLE
Rebekka Neville is a Sydney-based singer/songwriter whose sound incorporates elements of jazz, Latin, funk and soul, singing a range of standards and original songs.

SALLY LONDON
From Birdland in New York, Tangier International Jazz Festival in Morocco, the Venetian Casino in Macau, a release on the EMI label which charted in Europe, and a string of original compositions which have been finalists in Australian and American songwriting contests – singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist Sally London is “a chanteuse who is all platinum, classy and captivating and who has one of the best voices in this country”. Koop Kooper, Cocktail Nation – The Interviews
“Sally’s brazen, often playfully funny sensuality is like a splash of ice water underneath a desert sun. Her voice, sliding in between a sex-kitten purr and a soulful croon, is what microphones were made for.” – Music Industry News Network (USA)
“The public was carried away by the atmosphere that reigned on the stage, thanks to a remarkable performance given by the artist Sally London, one of the best composers/singers from Australia, who brilliantly moved from jazz to pop with her own compositions and a great sense of humour.” – Soleil FM, 93.5 (review of the 2015 Tangier International Jazz Festival)
“Sally’s current single is a blues gem” – The Manly Daily
“It’s Mick Jagger’s little sister” – Paris jazz journalist Pascal Kober
