Description

Felicity Wilcox-Piano; John Encarnacao-Guitar; Lloyd Swanton-Double Bass

The Wilcox, Encarnacao, Swanton Trio comes to Foundry 616 for the first time, in two completely improvised sets. W.E.S.T is an exciting new collaboration between three unique composer-performers, who are all individually renowned for their work in jazz, improvisation, indie pop, art music and movie soundtracks. Come and join us to experience music that that is exploratory, arresting, mesmerising, and unpredictable!

This evening is also a celebration to launch Felicity’s new CD of solo piano improvisations: Moment, released by alternative label Psychopyjama, who says this about the record:

“Moment… draws on many strands of experience, musical and emotional. It is not ambient music, or jazz (quite) . . . it is not classical music . . . it is a soundtrack for a film playing behind your eyelids where the weather changes gradually. Moment is a world of comfort and challenge. It draws from Wilcox’s decades of experience as a soundtrack composer. It can drift like a delicious afternoon with the sun dappling the water . . . big emotional melodies might tug at your heart strings . . . sounds from the interior of the piano can beguile and intrigue.”
