Lucy Kiely is a 27-year-old jazz vocalist and composer from Sydney, Australia who now lives and works full time on the spectacular Amalfi Coast of Italy. Tutored by several of Australia’s finest vocal educators and a two-time SIMA Young Women in Jazz graduate, Lucy has performed at countless beautiful venues in Sydney, Paris, New York and throughout Italy.
Lucy is passionate about composing original music and has independently released two stunning EPs for which she wrote all music and lyrics and are now beloved fixtures in cafes, restaurants, art galleries, record stores and homes throughout the world. She was thrilled to debut both EPs live at Foundry616 in January 2018 to a packed room.
Lucy has been described on air by Sydney’s Radio Eastside as “one of our finest young jazz singers…” and her ‘exquisite’ debut EP was the station’s ‘Independent Release of the Week’.
Lucy’s debut LP ‘Mediterraneo’ of all original jazz compositions inspired by her home of the Amalfi Coast of Italy will be recorded this month at the iconic Studios 301 with her longtime jazz band. Written in the shade of ancient olive groves and set against the blue velvet backdrop of the Tyrrhenian Sea, ‘Mediterraneo’ is the embodiment of a life suspended between sky and sea, told through the medium of contemporary jazz with roots firmly in sixties soul and the golden-era standards.
Underscored with Lucy’s signature air of nostalgia and a longing for days gone by, ‘Mediterraneo’ promises to deliver a fresh and invigorating offering of music and lyrics inspired by the experience of a lifetime on the ‘Divina Costiera’.
Lucy is excited to debut a number of the new compositions live at Foundry616 on the 2nd January 2019!
