Matt McMahon is an award-winning pianist and composer who leads his great friends Phil Slater (trumpet), Jono Brown (bass), and Simon Barker (drums) in presenting his original music. These musicians have been playing together for thirty years in various combinations, bringing their wealth of experience in many musical contexts to the stage as they improvise together. The performance will feature brand new compositions to be premiered, alongside many of McMahon’s previous works from his catalogue of recorded releases, providing a launchpad for new explorations.
Matt has performed with a host of artists, including Vince Jones, Katie Noonan, Steve Hunter, Dale Barlow, Wynton Marsalis, Greg Osby, Veronica Swift, The Australian Chamber Orchestra, Joseph Tawadros, Gurrumul, Aaron Goldberg, Bob Hurst, Carl Dewhurst, Bernie McGann, and many others.
