Chasing the Moon blends the exuberant and romantic sounds of European and Latin jazz, infusing them with folk elements and a dash of blues. Their arrangements bubble with fresh, original energy, offering each band member a chance to shine.
Kathy Bluff (violin/vocals) and Paul Burjan (saxophones/flute) lead the ensemble, exploring a rich, orchestral palette. Soulful vocals intertwine with swinging violin and saxophone, while Garry Steel’s accordion adds an essential Parisian charm.
John Blenkhorn, a respected Sydney jazz guitarist, provides rhythmic pulse and exquisite solos. The rhythm section, featuring Merv Sequiera on double bass and Mike Quigley on drums, lays down irresistible grooves.
