Don’t miss the jazz event of the year as the 2025 Australian National Youth Jazz Orchestra (ANJO) teams up with two of the world’s most celebrated big band artists—Grammy-nominated pianist/composer Gordon Goodwin and legendary lead trumpeter Wayne Bergeron—for one unforgettable night at Foundry616. This exclusive event will also feature acclaimed LA session vocalist Vangie Gunn and will be recorded for later broadcast by ABC Jazz.

Gordon Goodwin is the visionary behind the world-renowned Big Phat Band, known for its explosive energy and genre-blending excellence. Wayne Bergeron, regarded as one of the finest lead trumpet players alive, has worked with the biggest names in music, from Michael Bublé to Diana Krall and Ray Charles.

Founded by David Theak in 2020, the ANJO Youth Big Band unites the nation’s brightest emerging jazz musicians (ages 18–25) through highly competitive auditions and offers world-class training and performance opportunities free of charge. The 2025 lineup represents Australia’s finest young jazz talent from NSW, VIC, QLD, SA, and TAS.

Thanks to support from Generations in Jazz, Sydney Grammar School, the Vlad Khusid Fellowship, Jazz SA, JMI, Sydney Band Instruments, and D’Addario Australia, this event promises to be an electrifying celebration of big band music.
